About the Associate Board The Associate Board is a volunteer organization operating under the direction of the Board of Directors of the Orlando-UCF Shakespeare Festival. Its purpose is to recruit volunteers for membership who share a common interest in the Festival and to promote the Festival through activities which serve as both to raise funds for and awareness of the Festival and its many contributions to the Central Florida Community. Although the bullet points below are not a complete list, the main commitments of the Associate Board are: - Sponsoring all the "First Friday" parties for all festival shows. Come join us for a private party with the cast and crew!
- Creating the Silent Auction items for the Festival Gala Premiere Opening Night. Last year's silent auction raised over $16,000!
- Sponsoring the "Festival Bowlathon" to provide tickets to groups that otherwise could not afford tickets, such as the Coalition for the Homeless, Center for Drug Free Living, AIDS Network and other groups. Last year's Bowlathon raised over $7,100.
- Attending monthly Associate Board meetings
The Associate Board attracts professionals from the business community and supporters of the Festival who have a strong sense of fun, who cannot make the financial commitment necessary for the main board, or who may be future board members.
